Friends of TPL is pleased to accept gently used books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, and other materials for donation at both our used bookstore locations. All materials should be in good condition for reselling (i.e., no mold, water/smoke damage, or missing pages). Books missing their dust jackets are welcome.
If in any doubt about whether your items are suitable for donation, please feel free to contact us.
Please be aware we are unable to issue tax receipts for donated materials.

Where and How to Donate
Donation Instructions for BOOKEnds South:
For smaller donations (roughly 2 boxes or less) that you are able to carry, please feel free to drop off your items into the donation box at the BOOKEnds South store at any time when Toronto Reference Library is open (Mon-Fri 9 am to 8:30 pm; Sat 9 am to 5 pm; Sun noon to 5 pm). For donation box drop-offs there is no need to call ahead.
For larger donations (roughly 3 boxes or more), or if you are unable to carry items in from your vehicle, please give us a call at (416) 397-5948 to make an appointment.
Donation Instructions for BOOKEnds North:
For smaller donations (roughly 3 boxes or less) that you are able to carry, please feel free to drop off your items at the desk in the BOOKEnds North store at any time during store hours (Wed/Thurs/Sat 10 am to 4 pm; Fri 10 am to 6 pm). For store drop-offs there is no need to call ahead.
For larger donations (roughly 4 boxes or more), or if you are unable to carry items in from your vehicle, please give us a call at (416) 395-5810 to make an appointment.
Please do not leave items outside the door when the store is closed.
